The Things I’ve Learned

I’ve learned to smile with my eyes
So they can see that I have a soul.

I’ve learned that a moment of silence,
A reflection of the things that we hold dear,
Will allow us to proceed with purpose.

I’ve learned we’re more alike than we’d like to think.

We all want to be loved.
